BB Ertaş Turizm Ltd. Şti. operates the Group A travel agency registered as Tree of Life Travel under licence number 14806. The Travel's Cappadocia brand is used by this company.

This notice is issued under Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) and the related communiqué. It explains how BB Ertaş Turizm Ltd. Şti. collects personal data, what it is used for, who may receive it and what rights you have.

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is BB Ertaş Turizm Ltd. Şti.. Our trade name, address, tax and registry details, travel agency licence details and contact channels are shown on the contact page, in the footer of the site and on your booking voucher, and those sources are the reference for current details.

2. What data we process

  • Identity and contact: your name, telephone number (including WhatsApp) and email address.
  • Booking: the tour or transfer you chose, date, time, number of guests, children's ages, hotel name for pick-up, flight details and booking notes.
  • Correspondence: what you write to us through the contact form, a call-back request, email and WhatsApp.
  • Security and operation: technical records kept so the site and its forms work safely, such as IP address, browser type and access time.
  • Preferences: language, currency, favourites and your cookie choice, which are mostly stored only in your browser.
  • Health and diet information: pregnancy, limited mobility, allergies or a meat-free diet, only where you choose to tell us so that the tour can be prepared for you.

No payment is taken when you request a booking or on the website, and we do not collect card or bank details. You pay on the tour day in cash or by card; for card payments the card data is processed in the systems of the bank and the payment provider. For alcohol tastings you may be asked for ID to check your age.

3. Purposes of processing

  • To receive and confirm your booking request and send you the pick-up time.
  • To run tours, balloon flights, accommodation and transfers, and to pass on safety and health notes.
  • To answer your questions, call-back requests and messages.
  • To meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations, and to protect our rights in a dispute.
  • Only if you consent, to measure how the site is used in aggregate and improve our service.

4. Legal bases

Your data is processed on the grounds listed in the second paragraph of Article 5 of the KVKK: conclusion and performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, establishment, exercise or protection of a right, and our legitimate interests provided your fundamental rights are not harmed. Measurement cookies and special-category data such as health information rest on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Who receives your data

We share data only as far as the service requires, and only with these groups: licensed balloon operators who run the flights; guides, transfer, accommodation, meal and workshop partners; providers of site hosting, email and messaging infrastructure; accountants and bookkeepers; and authorised public bodies. Some infrastructure providers may be located abroad, in which case the transfer follows the conditions of Article 9 of the KVKK. We do not sell your data to third parties for advertising.

6. Retention

  • Booking and accounting records: for as long as commercial, financial and tax law requires, which for some records is five to ten years.
  • Correspondence: for a reasonable period after your request is closed, limited by limitation periods.
  • Measurement data: only while you consent and for the life of the cookie.

When the period ends, data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

7. Security and children's data

We take suitable technical and organisational measures against unauthorised access, loss and misuse, and only people who need the data for their work can reach it. Information about anyone under 18 is given only by a parent or legal representative, for the purpose of a booking.

8. Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK you can ask us to:

  • Tell you whether your data is processed and, if so, give you information.
  • Explain the purpose and whether the data is used for that purpose.
  • Name the people it has been passed to, in Turkey or abroad.
  • Correct data that is incomplete or wrong.
  • Delete or destroy data under the conditions in the law, and tell those it was passed to.
  • Consider an objection if analysis by automated systems leads to a result against you.
  • Compensate you for loss caused by unlawful processing.

9. How to apply

Send your request in writing, with details that verify your identity, through the channels shown on the contact page or by any other method set out in the related communiqué. Requests are answered within thirty days at the latest, and usually free of charge. If you find the reply insufficient or receive none in time, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the rights granted by the data protection law of your own country remain in place too.
